ANGRY WHITE BIRDMEN
Barack Obama will likely not be sworn in again as president in 2013. He’s had his day in the sun and America, now, wants to move on. All the tell=tale signs are there including an electorate, which to this day, can’t seem to get its head around our erstwhile stoner from the Hawaiian Islands. To make matters worse, many of our countrymen are going to go out their way to vote this November with an eye toward unseating the only African-American to ever hold the nation’s highest office.
One reason for this is that a certain segment of the population is sick and tired of being sick and tired regarding their prospects in today’s economy. They have pride, you know. Many feel they’ve been thrown under the bus and then kicked to the curb so their guts won’t clog up our road to nowhere fast.
The other reason is a bit more dark and foreboding considering this nation’s history and its present state. It is entwined with idiotic proclamations that Obama is a Muslim or wasn’t born here. Also entwined is a deep-seeded fear White men in America are a dying species, which leads to their inevitable conclusion that “everything else be damned, I’m voting for my kind”, even though he’s much more alike to you then you care to think.
How many of you grew up on third base thinking all along you’ve hit a triple. Not only did this important demographic vote for another three base hit fake in 2000 and 2004, they’re about to do it again, and this time our country’s long, historical embarrassment, which ultimately sees the true class warfare, which is based on race, will be the elephant in the room.
Sure, the economy will be front and center stage as the driving force behind this silent migration to one handsome devil of a game show host. Many of those lining up for Mitt don’t believe for a minute his faith in Christ is as genuine as theirs or Obama’s (if you don’t already believe he’s a son of Islam). It won’t matter.
In 2008, many of these crusaders sat out the Presidential election because they couldn’t vote for a doddering, old man and the female epitome of a backwoods charmer, who, then, couldn’t think her way out of a paper bag. As a result, Obama collected his prize, equipped with an economy crippled by two wars and an administration hell-bent on killing everything in its path. He did so with an outpouring of love usually reserved for messiahs and rock stars. This time, however, the love won’t be there.
Maybe it’s because we’re still in a much despised war, even though he got us out of a similarly hated conflict and killed the titular head of everything we find vile and disgusting. Maybe it’s because the economy and jobs outlook is so cloudy the sun is not even getting up this morning. Or maybe it’s because our beautiful leader hasn’t live up to the hype.
In any case come next January, he’ll be archives. It was nice while it lasted except for the folks who just couldn’t understand his enormous significance as a biracial trailblazer. Like he said when things get tough, the tough cling to their guns and religion. What I believe is also a theme related to that controversial statement is an unspoken truth. During these particularly trying times, people will also tend to look in the mirror before voting and carry the image they see to the ballot box.
